As Alt. Leather positioned itself to disrupt the fashion, footwear, furnishings, and automotive industries, the challenge was to craft a brand that would stand out in the crowded sustainable textiles market. The goal was to develop a strategic and visual identity that could drive recognition, resonate with diverse audiences, capture the imaginations of investors and fuel rapid growth.

Solution

The tagline ‘Made from Plants’ was created to clearly and directly convey the brand’s unique selling proposition. It encapsulates the essence of what sets the brand apart: no petroleum-based plastics, no animal-derived ingredients, just innovative textiles made entirely from plants. This simple yet powerful statement reinforces the brand’s position as a trailblazer in the bio-based textile industry, distilling its mission into three impactful words.

The visual identity reflects this pioneering spirit, symbolising a step beyond the conventional into uncharted territory. Inspired by the concept of crossing an event horizon, the point where transformation and discovery become inevitable, it celebrates the vision and resilience of founder Tina Funder. Her mission to challenge and redefine the textiles industry is brought to life through bold design elements that echo the limitless potential of bio-based innovation. Together, the tagline and identity embody the brand’s courage to embrace the unknown and redefine what’s possible in the world of sustainable textiles.
